WEA - Adult Education Courses
The Workers' Educational Association is the
largest voluntary provider of Adult Education in
the United Kingdom. It is organised in
England into thirteen districts and in Scotland
through the Scottish Association.
There are 650 local branches nationwide
providing over 10,000 courses, while
partnerships with hundreds of groups and
organisations enable over 110,000 people to
take part in its educational provision each
year. You will see from pages on the web site
that some of the courses are run in
collaboration with the Faculty of Continuing
Education at Birkbeck College, London.
Founded nearly 100 years ago, this
nationwide organisation still gives people
from all walks of life a chance to take their
education further.
The courses offered are wide ranging,
stimulating and challenging but, most
importantly, are held right on your doorstep in
a friendly and informal environment and taught
by experienced and well qualified tutors,
closely monitored to maintain the high
standards we set ourselves.
The web site gives you the opportunity to know
more about WEA, both at a national and local
level, and to find out about the future courses
available in the Chorleywood and
Rickmansworth area of southwest
Hertfordshire.
